Innovative Cardiovascular Solutions raises $3m

Innovative Cardiovascular SolutionsInnovative Cardiovascular Solutions raised $3.1 million in a new round of equity financing, according to an SEC filing posted this week.

The Milan, Italy-based company is developing the Emblok system, an embolic protection device designed for full circumferential aortic collection while protecting the cerebral, abdominal and peripheral vasculature from embolic debris.

The system includes an integrated 4 French radiopaque pigtail catheter to provide constant visualization and eliminate the need for dye injections to confirm positioning.

Money in the round came from 97 unnamed sources, with the 1st sale recorded on July 14, 2015.

The company has not yet stated how it plans to use funds raised in the round, but is still looking for an additional $3.9 million before closing, according to the SEC filing.

Last month, Innovative Cardiovascular Solutions announced the 1st successful European clinical case for its Emblok embolic protection system in patients that are undergoing TAVR procedures. The procedures were completed at the San Rafaela Hospital in Milan, Italy.
