Stimwave wins 5-year DoD contract to supply SCS devices

Stimwave Technologies said today it won a Distribution and Pricing Agreement with the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency.

Through the 5-year contract, Stimwave will supply the Agency with its Freedom spinal cord stimulation systems. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based company touted the contract as the 1st global agreement for SCS devices by a US government agency.

“We are extremely pleased Stimwave received a DAPA. The successful product validation process now allows Stimwave products to be accessed and used by doctors at all military treatment facilities across the globe. Multiple facilities have been pleased to hear they can now acquire our products through their purchasing vehicles,” CEO Laura Perryman said in a press release.

Earlier this month, Stimwave Technologies said it won approval from the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration for its Freedom spinal cord stimulation system, and launched the device in the country.

The company touts the Freedom SCS as the world’s 1st wireless, fully programmable neuromodulation device intended for treating chronic, intractable pain of the back or legs. The device has also won clearance for use in the US, Canada and countries of the European Union, Stimwave said.
