Cardiac Science said today it won Health Canada approval for its Powerheart G5 automated external defibrillator.

“We are proud to offer fully automatic Powerheart G5 AEDs to the Canadian market and, more importantly, help lead the fight against sudden cardiac arrest. Since its launch to the U.S. market in 2015, the fully automatic Powerheart G5 has been our most popular AED for the public-access marketplace where ease-of-use and concise rescue prompting are paramount,” CEO Dev Kurdikar said in a press release.

Last week, Cardiac Science said it inked a deal with the Boston Public Schools to supply them it its Powerheart G5s to expand the district’s AED program.
