Royal Philips (NYSE:PHG) said today it partnered with Truven Health Analytics to integrate Truven’s Micromedex Solutions into Philips’ Tasy health management platform.
Truven’s Micromedex is an evidence-based drug-interaction resource that allows users to view information on medication, disease, tests, toxicology and alternative medicines and their interactions, the company said.
“Our goal is to improve hospital efficiencies, save costs and improve care outcomes. Integrating Micromedex Solutions with Tasy delivers information resources when and where they are needed most, without disrupting the clinical workflow, allowing staff to make confident decisions faster,” Truven global sales veep Per Holst-Hansen said in a press release.
Through the partnership, Philips will integrate Truven’s system into its Tasy health management platform to allow users access to the drug-interaction database through the system.
“This is what the partnership between Truven Health Analytics and Tasy provides with the integration of Micromedex Solutions; trusted information and the tool to assess whether the patient will be affected,” Philips sales and marketing director Ana Luiza Oliveira said in prepared remarks.
Truven’s system is in use in more than 5,500 hospitals in more than 90 countries, the companies said, in addition to being used by over 100 healthcare providers.
