Siemens Healthcare leaves Pittsburgh for Cleveland

Siemens Healthcare, Global Center for Health InnovationSiemens Healthcare (NYSE:SI) said today it is moving its central zone headquarters from Pittsburgh, Penn. to the Global Center for Health Innovation in Cleveland, Ohio.

The move will position the Siemens closer to research partners Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals, which are tenant-partners at the Global Center.

“We are honored to have a powerhouse like Siemens Healthcare join our collaborative environment. Fresh, innovative thinking is what powers the Global Center, and Siemens executes this beautifully with its forward-thinking ideas – shedding light on what’s possible and inspiring innovation in healthcare,” Global Center for Health Innovation managing director Fred DeGrandis said in a press release.

Siemens Healthcare joins the Global Center as its 20th tenant-partner, with a suite outfitted with virtual imaging and diagnostic capabilities as well as a learning and collaboration space to allow technicians from around the world to train on state-of-the-art equipment, the Global Center said.

“Siemens is very pleased to be working in the great space provided by the Global Center for Health Innovation. Since taking occupancy, it has allowed us a new forum to showcase our technological innovations in the city of Cleveland, which is home to 3 of Siemens Healthcare’s most significant research partners; Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals, and The Cleveland Clinic. Siemens Innovation comes from these outstanding partners and the knowledge workers that they provide,” Siemens healthcare central zone veep Terry Talbot said in prepared remarks.
