Intuitive Surgical taps Jones for new Sr. veep of design and user experience
Robotic surgery powerhouse Intuitive Surgical (NSDQ:ISRG) tagged Charles Jones as its new senior vice president of design and user experience – a new position within the company.
Previous to his work at Intuitive Surgical, Jones worked at Herman Miller, Xerox, Whirlpool Corp. and Newell Brands. Jones’ new position will put him in charge of overseeing product look and operability, as well as industrial, graphic, UI and UX design.
“The 1 … mantra that I’ve had throughout my career is to take horrendously complex operations, or procedures, or interfaces, and basically tame that complexity … to offer up a very simple, straightforward, and, no pun intended, intuitive approach for that interface,” Jones told R&D Magazine.
