5. iCad closes sale of VersaVue, DynaCAD to Philips Invivo
iCad said today it closed its sale of its VersaVue software and DynaCAD breast and prostate imaging devices to Royal Philips‘ Invivo unit for $3.2 million.
Nashua, N.H.-based iCad said the deal includes a holdback reserve of $350,000. Read more
4. Halt Medical wins Medicaid coverage for Acessa treatment in 5 states
Halt Medical said today it won coverage for its Acessa System from Medicaid in Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Washington D.C.
The Acessa system uses radiofrequency ablation guided by ultrasound to remove fibroids, which are benign, non-cancerous tumors that occur in women’s uteri, often during childbearing years, Brentwood, Calif.-based Halt Medical said. Read more
3. BioVentrix lands German reimbursement win for Revivent system
BioVentrix said today that its Revivent TC transcatheter ventricular enhancement system won NUB 1 reimbursement status from the German Institute for the Hospital Remuneration System.
This status is the highest of 4 levels, which will bring in full reimbursement for the San Ramon, Calif.-based company at participating hospitals. Payers at these hospitals will be required to cover the gaps in treatment costs for the Revivent system. Read more
2. Toshiba Medical Systems wins 5-year $828m DoD radiology contract
Toshiba Medical Systems said last Friday it won a 5-year $827.6 million fixed-price, indefinite delivery and quantity contract with the US Department of Defense.
The contract will position Toshiba Medical to provide radiology systems, accessories and training to the DoD, including the Air Force, Navy, Army, Marine Corps and federal civilian agency. Read more
1. Medtronic wins VA telehealth supply contract
Medtronic said today its Medtronic Care Management Services won a contract from the US Department of Veterans Affairs to provide home telehealth technologies.
The contract will position Fridley, Minn.-based Medtronic’s CMS to provide veterans with telehealth technology platforms including connected diagnostic devices, clinical workflow software and related telehealth solutions for 1 year, with 4 optional 1-year periods exercisable by the VA. Read more
