AdvaMed inks cooperation agreement with China’s medtech association

AdvaMedAdvaMed said today that it signed a cooperation framework agreement with the China Association for the Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) at The MedTech Conference in San Jose, California.

The agreement was designed to spur medical device innovation by promoting cooperation between innovators from China and the U.S.

“This agreement signifies a major step forward in industry collaboration between CAMDI and to expand patient access to innovative medical technology solutions in both countries,” CAMDI CEO Dr. Jiang Feng said in prepared remarks.

“Our agreement represents a win-win for CAMDI and AdvaMed members, but most importantly for patients, as we continue to strengthen ties to help ensure access to advanced medical devices, diagnostics and therapies that will save more lives and improve quality of life,” AdvaMed president & CEO Scott Whitaker added.

According to the collaborative deal, CAMDI and AdvaMed plan to work together to boost the competitiveness of the medical device industry in China and the U.S, strengthen its R&D capacity and encourage integration into the global innovation ecosystem.

“As this framework reflects AdvaMed’s strengthening commitment to China, we look forward to continuing to work with CAMDI to help make patients’ lives better through medical technology innovation,” Whitaker said.

“By signing this framework, we look forward to expanding and deepening the long-term strategic partnership between CAMDI and AdvaMed,” Feng added.
