Siemens (NYSE:SI) Healthineers and Materialise today announced a 3D printing deal looking to place Materialise’s Mimics inPrint 3D printing software in hospitals globally.
Through the deal, hospitals and radiologists will be able to acquire the Materialise Mimis inPrint software through Siemens Healthineers’ Syngo.Via open application platform, the companies said.
“We believe 3D printing is going to revolutionize the medical industry and we are always looking for ways to improve accessibility of our 3D printing software to more patients and hospitals. By partnering with other global healthcare leaders like Siemens Healthineers, we can do just that, and more importantly, we can further contribute to a better and healthier world,” Materialise medical VP Brigitte de Vet said in a press release.
The Mimics inPrint software features virtual 3D anatomical models designed to facilitate surgical planning and collaboration between radiologists and surgical teams, the companies said.
“By incorporating 3D technology into syngo.via, we jointly support the entire workflow from patient diagnosis to therapy planning. This is a cost-effective way to increase the clinical capabilities of syngo.via and an important step towards achieving personalized care and precision medicine,” Siemens Healthineers Syngo Business Line marketing head Valentin Ziebandt said in prepared remarks.
Earlier this month, Siemens said it launched the Share360 in-house service portfolio designed to support clinical engineering departments with customizable levels of support.
