Brigham & Women’s iHub, Evidation to study digital health outcomes

Brigham and Women’s Innovation Hub (iHub) and Evidation Health said today they are collaborating to study the impact that digital health interventions have on clinical and economic outcomes.

The groups hope to quantify the impact of digital health solutions across a range of therapeutic areas using Brigham and Women’s clinical expertise and Evidation Heath’s efficient, direct-to-patient trial strategies.

The Massachusetts-based hospital’s iHub brings together scientists, clinicians, and administrators to solve hospital challenges, like efficient patient care, using digital innovation.

In collaboration with Evidation Health, the hospital hopes to accelerate its clinical trial process and quantify the impact of digital interventions using real life data collected through a variety of applications and devices.

“We are in an exciting time where hundreds of digital health solutions are emerging in the market—however, the big challenge for the healthcare sector is to collectively generate and share evidence of their impact,” Evidation Health CEO Deborah Kilpatrick said in prepared remarks. “Our partnership with Brigham and Women’s Hospital iHub is driven by this important objective of quantifying impact and determining what actually works for patients.”

“We’re excited to work with Evidation Health to test the impact of digital health solutions on patient outcomes,” iHub executive director Lesley Solomon added. “Research is core to our mission at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and we are committed to evaluating digital health solutions and adopting those that have the most impact and meet our needs.”
