Siemens launches TrueFusion1 cardiovascular ultrasound application

Siemens Healthineers

Siemens (NYSE:SI) Healthineers said today it launched the TrueFusion1 application for its Acuson SC2000 cardiovascular ultrasound system, designed to integrate ultrasound and angiography images to guide structural heart disease treatments.

The TrueFusion application is designed to send anatomical and functional markers, in addition to valve models, from the Acuson SC2000’s true volume transesophageal echocardiography transducer to an Artis angiography system to overlay ultrasound with live fluoroscopy images.

“With one of the industry’s broadest portfolios for diagnosis, therapy, and follow-up of cardiovascular disease, Siemens Healthineers supports patient care along clinical pathways to improve outcomes. For the high innovation pace of novel procedures and devices in structural heart disease, we provide data and image integration for clinical decision support and real-time therapy guidance,” Siemens Healthineers cardiology GM Philipp Fischer said in a press release.

In July, Siemens Healthineers said it agreed to acquire Alere‘s (NYSE:ALR) Epocal point-of-care blood diagnostic business as Alere looks to clear regulatory hurdles in its pending acquisition by Abbott (NYSE:ABT).
