4. Vascular Solutions shares soar, raises guidance on Q2 earnings release
Vascular Solutions saw shares soar after releasing 2nd quarter earnings that beat the Street and significantly grew from last year.
The Minneapolis, Minn.-based company reported profits of $5.4 million, or 31¢ per share, on sales of $5.4 million for the 3 months ended June 30. That amounts to a massive 45% bottom-line gain as sales grew 9.7% compared with teh same period last year. Read more
3. Tandem Diabetes wins pediatric indication for t:slim insulin pumps
Tandem Diabetes Care said today it won FDA 510(k) clearance for an expanded pediatric indication for its t:slim insulin pump, now indicated for use in children 6 and older.
The San Diego, Calif.-based company said the expanded indication applies to its current t:slim pump features and that there were no changes made to the existing user interface. Read more

Zimmer Biomet said today it is launching Signature Solutions, a suite of clinical services designed to assist hospitals and medical practices to transition to value-based healthcare models.

1. Baxter stays steady, lifts guidance after releasing Q2 earnings
Baxter saw shares stay steady after releasing 2nd quarter earnings today that slimly topped analyst’s expectations, pushing the company to raise its guidance for the next quarter and coming year.
Baxter reported profits of $1.2 billion, or $2.19 per share, on sales of $2.6 billion for the 3 months ended June 30. That amounts to a more than 200% bottom-line gain on sales growth of 4.4% compared with the same period last year. Read more
