410 Medical Innovations raises $2m for LifeFlow rapid infuser

410 Medical Innovations said in a regulatory filing YYdate that it raised a funding round worth $2.2 million.

Durham, N.C.-based 410 Medical developed the LifeFlow rapid infuser for critically ill patients needing urgent fluid delivery. The device is designed to allow front-line healthcare providers to deliver 1 liter of crystalloid fluid through a 20-gauge IV catheter in 5 minutes.

Some 18 unnamed investors participated in the debt-and-equity round, which logged its 1st sale in April, according to the filing.

410 Medical has filed for 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the LifeFlow device, according to its website. The company was founded in 2013 by CEO Dr. Mark Piehl,a pediatric intenstivist, and Sovereign’s Capital managing principal Luke Roush, according to the site. Roush is the former sales, marketing & business development VP at robot-assisted surgery company TransEnterix.
