Sectra (STO:SECTB) said today that it’s establishing a direct sales force in Canada for its medical imaging and cybersecurity offerings.
The Swedish company said the move will allow it to focus on the specific needs of the market north of the border, from a base in Toronto that’s expected to go live before September.
“To expand in the Canadian market is part of our long-term growth plan. Canada has some unique healthcare challenges that we are prepared to address with our flexible and intuitive software. Sectra has highly-satisfied customers in Canada, but we still have a relatively small market share. This is something we believe we can improve through increased local presence,” president & CEO Torbjörn Kronander said in prepared remarks.
Sectra said in named Kjetil Nilsen, a 10-year company veteran, as president of Sectra Canada.
“Kjetil has extensive experience within medical imaging IT and has managed several of Scandinavia’s largest installations. His industry knowledge and leadership experience give him the background needed to grow our Canadian operations,” Kronander said.
Sectra acquired RxEye AB and its cloud-based medical imaging platform for an undisclosed amount in December 2015.
