Zoll Medical wins $400m DoD vital signs monitor supply contract

Zoll Medical

Zoll Medical has won a contract with the US Department of Defense worth up to $400 million for vital sign monitors, according to a DoD release posted last Friday.

The award comes as a $400 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity contract to supply the Air Force and Army with deployable vital signs monitors.

The contract has a one-year base with five one-year option periods, and the maximum $400 million amount is for the life of the contract. The award was competitive, with two responses received by the DoD.

The contract will operate from 2018 to 2023, according to the DoD release.

In early November, Zoll Medical said it and Royal Philips (NYSE:PHG) are close to settling a long-running patent spat over automated external defibrillator technology.
