Roche (OTC:RHHBY) said today it is launching its CoaguCheck Vantus system designed for monitoring blood coagulation, specifically for patients on warfarin therapy.
The Switzerland-based company said the CoaguCheck Vantus features built in Bluetooth technology to allow patients to use their smart devices and a compatible application to send results of the coagulation testing to their healthcare providers to reduce lab visits.
Roche touted that the system can improve patient engagement and compliance, as well as establishing a better connection between patients and their doctors.
“As healthcare systems face continued pressure to deliver improved access to care at a lower cost, increased connectivity between healthcare providers and patients becomes even more important. This innovative technology sets the standard in coagulation monitoring by providing high quality, convenient testing, while optimizing the patient result reporting workflow,” Roche diagnostics chief medical officer Dr. Alan Wright said in a press release.
In April, Roche said it closed its $1.9 billion acquisition of digital healthcare tech company Flatiron Health.
