3. Stryker launches interbody fusion device
Stryker released the Aero-C cervical stability system and cervical interbody fusion device designed for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion procedures. The device was launched at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual meeting in Orlando, Fla. this week.
The Aero-C is based on Allendale, N.J-based Stryker’s patented compression technology which features anchor fixation systems designed to draw the vertebral bodies toward the implant to create compressive forces at the implant-to-endplate interface, the company said. Read more
2. Becton Dickinson wins CE Mark for blood separation tech
Becton Dickinson & Co. said today it won CE Mark approval in the European Union for its Vacutainer Barricor next-gen blood separation technology.
The Vacutainer Barricor tubes from Franklin Lakes, N.J.-based Becton Dickinson are single-use, plastic evacuated tubes used to collect, separate, transport and process venous blood specimens for obtaining high-quality plasma for in vitro diagnostic use, the company said. Read more
1. Medtronic sees rev grow, beats street in Q3 on lifted US sales
Medtronic reported a solid 3rd quarter for 2016, seeing revenue rise over 60% compared against last year, though shares have dipped in early morning trading.
Fridley, Minn.-based Medtronic reported profits of $1.1 billion, or 77¢ per share, on sales of $6.9 billion for the 3 months ended January 29. That amounts to a 12.1% bottom-line gain on sales growth of 60.6% compared with the same period in 2015. Read more
