AdvaMed taps Cohera CEO Daly for Accel chairmanship
AdvaMed said it tapped Patrick Daly, president & CEO of Cohera Medical, to be the new chairman of its AdvaMed Accel division for smaller medical device companies.
Daly, who’s been on the board at Accel since 2012 and on the AdvaMed board since 2014, replaces CVRx president & CEO Yadim Nared at Accel.
“Smaller and emerging medical technology companies are a cornerstone of the innovation ecosystem and the source of so many cutting-edge medical advances,” said Daly. “I know first-hand the challenges these companies face first to obtain the necessary funding to get their products off the drawing board and then to navigate the complex regulatory pathways at FDA and CMS. I am honored to be leading AdvaMed Accel, which is doing so much to help smaller companies get their innovative technologies to patients and physicians.”
“Nadim has been a tireless advocate for Accel companies during his tenure as chair,” added AdvaMed Accel executive director & SVP Ashley Wittorf. “He has worked to increase the engagement of small companies in the association’s advocacy work – and bring companies of all sizes together – to improve the medtech innovation ecosystem. Under Nadim’s leadership, Accel companies have played an increasingly important role in AdvaMed’s outreach efforts to key stakeholders, including Capitol Hill, FDA, CMS and the investment community.”
AdvaMed Accel also said that Intersect ENT president & CEO Lisa Earnhardt plans to join the Accel board.
