OrthoSensor inks collaborative dev deal with IM-Tech

 

OrthoSensor, IM-TechOrthoSensor said today it inked a strategic partnership agreement with electronic component maker IM-Tech that includes development collaboration, manufacturing and capital investment.

The companies said the deal would allow them to improve OrthoSensor’s Verasense disposable sensor.

The Verasense is designed to aid surgeons measure proper placement and motion during total knee replacements. The system analyzes ligament balance and returns data the surgeon can use to aid them during the procedure.

“The partnership with IM-Tech will bring additional cutting-edge electronics technology into our internal product development process.  It will also lead to improvements in our manufacturing efficiencies and enhance the commercialization of Verasense in the United States and internationally,” OrthoSensor CEO Ivan Delevic said in a press release.

“We greatly appreciate that our outstanding technology is acknowledged as core input for high-tech medical equipment. We will do our best in contributing to human biotechnology through decisive investment in R&D. We are confident that this relationship will be a win-win for both of our companies,” IM-Tech CEO Lee Jae Seok said in a prepared statement.
