Medical Sales representatives are 43% more satisfied with their jobs than they were in 2013, according to a 2016 medical sales job satisfaction report from MedReps.com.
Despite the increase from 2013, however, the percentage of medical sales reps considering a job change is only down 6% from 2013, moving from 53% to 47%.
The report comes from a survey of more than 1,400 medical sales professionals, MedReps.com said in their report. The survey also included data that contributed to the company’s 2016 best places to work report.
Medical sales representatives in 2015 made an average of $141,464 in total compensation, with the median total at $125,000, according to the report..
For medical sales reps, job satisfaction and income are closely tied, the report said. The average job satisfaction for those at the top of the income ladder were higher than their lower-paid peers, the company reported.
As for what medical sales representatives enjoy most about their jobs, their relationships with partners and providers ranked 1st, with the autonomy and flexibility of the job coming in second. Management, money and travel woes made up the worst parts, according to the report.
