The U.S. Department of Defense said it awarded Zimmer Biomet (NYSE:ZBH) a maximum $381 million fixed-price contract for various orthopedic products.
The 1-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity comes with 4 1-year option periods, with the maximum amount set for the life of the contract, according to the DoD.
Zimmer Biomet’s contract with the DoD comes with an April 25, 2021 completion date, and will serve the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civil agencies, according to a government release.
Earlier this month, Zimmer Biomet said it inked a deal to distribute CelgenTek Innovations Corp.’s bone trauma technology and the launch of new Persona and OsseoTi knee components.
The Warsaw, Ind.-based orthopedics juggernaut said the deal with CelgenTek includes that company’s N-Force fixation system and iN3 cement for fracture fixation and filling bone voids. The N-Force can be used with Zimmer Biomet’s N-Force Blue bone substitute matrix in the U.S. and the iN3 cement in Europe, the company said.
CelgenTek Innovations consists of Memphis-based InnoVision and CelgenTek of Shannon, Ireland.
Zimmer Biomet also said its Persona medial congruent bearing and OsseoTi tibial sleeves dropped this week for the Vanguard 360 revision knee system.
