The "Neuro Scout" system is looking for patterns in baseball players' EEGs to see if on-field talent can be traced to patterns in the brain.
MASSDEVICE ON CALL — Researchers at Colombia University are using a technique to test an old theory that baseball is a mental game as much or more than it's a physical one.
With the help of the "NeuroScout" system, developed by a postdoctoral research scientist at Colombia's Laboratory for Intelligent Imaging and Neural Computing, researchers are working in identifying signatures of baseball-playing aptitude that may one day be used to help players better train their minds or scouts pick the strongest players.
