Reva Medical (ASX:RVA) said last week it picked up ex-Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) divisional veep Regina Groves as its new CEO.
Groves was vice president and GM of the atrial fibrillation solutions, cardiac rhythm and heart failure division at Medtronic. During her time there, she helped the company strategize a re-entry into the catheter-based atrial fibrillation ablation market, the San Diego, Calif.-based company said.
“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Reva, especially at this critical time while we complete the clinical trial of Fantom and prepare for commercialization. I believe the experience I bring to Reva provides a great foundation to lead the business to its next stages. I look forward to working with the Board and management team to evaluate our strategies, including a possible Nasdaq listing, as we bring this product to market,” Graves said in a press release.
Reva had been on an active hunt for a new CEO to replace co-founder, chairman & CEO Robert Stockman since May, hoping to find someone with European and U.S. regulatory and commercialization experience. The company said they would keep Stockman on until the transition was complete, and he would continue as board chairman.
“I am very excited and pleased to be transitioning the helm of REVA to someone as qualified as Reggie. She has proven leadership and commercialization skills that are an excellent fit for REVA’s growth and strategic plans,” Stockman said in prepared remarks.
