Screening device maker Rijuven said today it launched its pediatric CardioSleeve electrocardiogram equipped smart stethoscope accessory.
The device is designed to ‘transform’ any standard stethoscope into a mobile-connected smart device with 3-lead ECG, digital auscultation and other pediatric care uses, the company said.
“Stethoscopes have been around for almost 200 years, it’s time to bring them into the 21st century. With CardioSleeve and the i2Dtx platform, Pediatricians now have the power of ECG right on the stethoscopes they already know and love. CardioSleeve makes existing stethoscopes smarter so they can do things an ordinary stethoscope can’t: visualize a heart murmur, quickly analyze heart rhythm, and identify heart failure, all while reducing costs and enhancing patient care,” prez Dr. Raj Kapoor said in a press release.
The device allows operating pediatricians and clinicians to visualize heart sound, analyze for arrhythmias or murmurs and identify possible heart failures, the Wexford, Penn.-based company said.
The CardioSleeve is part of the company’s cloud-based i2Dtx platform, and comes with an application that allows extra functionality.
