BSN Medical said today that it expanded its footprint in the lymphedema treatment market with the acquisition of Wright Therapy Products for an undisclosed amount.
Hamburg, Germany-based BSN has been on a bit of buying spree of late, having acquired FarrowMed and JoViPak in June and September, respectively. The deal for Oakdale, Penn-based Wright Therapy, which makes pneumatic compression systems used to treat lymphedema, or swollen extremities, and chronic venous insufficiency, closed yesterday, BSN said.
“BSN now provides a full spectrum of innovative solutions for the management of lymphedema, as well as a distinguished solution for treating hard-to-heal venous leg ulcers,” CEO Guido Oelkers said in prepared remarks. “We are confident that with our combined resources we can advance Wright Therapy Products’ innovative product pipeline and pneumatic compression expertise to better meet the requirements of healthcare professionals and the continuously growing patient population both in the U.S. and around the world.”
“Our company has been very focused on and passionate about helping to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from lymphedema or chronic venous insufficiency,” added Wright president & CEO Michael Hinson. “We’ve been able to offer solutions that not only provide an optimal clinical outcome for the patient, but also help reduce the overall cost-of-care. We’re very proud of what our team has accomplished over the past three decades, and we are excited about the benefits of joining forces with the BSN family.”
