Fujifilm Holdings (TSE:4901) said its Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A. subsidiary lured an Accuray (NSDQ:ARAY) executive and a physician from the University of Southern California to its executive roster effective Sept. 28.
The Stamford, Conn.-based company said Johann Fernando, formerly Accuray’s vice president & general manager, was named to be its operations chief. Dr. Diku Mandavia, who has been a medical advisor for Fujifilm SonoSite since 2007, was named CMO, Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A. said.
“We are pleased to welcome Johann and Diku to join Fujifilm’s executive leadership team,” president & CEO Masataka Akiyama said in prepared remarks. “Their broad experience and proven success in the industry will support our efforts to increase customer focus and innovation, enhance strategic and tactical execution, and accelerate growth.”
Cardiovascular Systems CEO Martin takes medical leave
Cardiovascular Systems (NSDQ:CSII) said CEO David Martin, who is battling stomach cancer, will take a 3-month medical leave of absence effective Dec. 1 so he can undergo surgery and further chemotherapy treatment. Chairman Scott Ward is slated to take over as interim CEO during Martin’s absence, the company said.
