Dell (NSDQ:DELL) said today it jumped into the medical imaging market with its Dell medical Review 24 Monitor and signed a multi-year agreement with Zebra Medical Vision to distribute its Clinical Research and Analytics platform.
Dell’s new medical monitor will debut at the Radiological Society of North America’s annual meeting this week.’
“As the #1 monitor brand in the world, we want to bring our innovation and expertise in display technology to the healthcare field with a selection of medical-grade Dell monitors. The MR2416 is the first in a line of products we will be introducing to enable healthcare customers to improve their efficiency and service quality,” Dell global software and peripherals veep Bert Park said in a press release.
The monitors feature anti-reflective edge-to-edge glass in front and a sealed design that is IP-32 rated, Dell said. The monitors come with light-colored exteriors to make fluid stains and contaminants easier to detect, and the exterior can handle cleaning agents of up to 75% concentrated ethyl alcohol.
Dell’s agreement with Zebra Medical Vision will position Dell Services to distribute Zebra’s analytics platform, which gives clinical sites access to algorithms that provide screening and diagnostic decision report, the company said.

A clinical analytics platform at this scale and integrated data management tools help healthcare organizations collaborate and improve the way we approach utilizing big data in healthcare,” Dell Services healthcare & life sciences global GM Sid Nair said in a prepared statement.
Zebra develops and produces a platform for medical imaging research including large scale, cloud-based access to clinical data and research tools to drive machine-learning based algorithms.
