The Orthopaedic Implant Company said today it launched its intermedullary hip nail system today.
The system from Reno, Nev.-based OIC consists of short and long nails with a pre-loaded cannulated set screw, 10.5mm lag screws and 5mm cross-lock screws.
“We have been really excited to launch this system. Hip fractures are the most commonly occurring fracture patterns. Being able to offer state of the art technology at a fraction of the cost of conventional vendors will have a profound impact on our country’s healthcare spend,”product design & development veep Todd Martens said in a press release.
The system is designed to provide optimal stability during fracture reduction and fixation, with a carbon-fiber targeter for unobstructed viewing under fluoroscopy.
The company said the system has received FDA regulatory clearance.
