Insulet (NSDQ:PODD) said today that it launched a new online platform for diabetes patients who use its Omnipod insulin management system, alongside a new mobile app and new branding for the device.
“We have an incredibly engaged and active Podder community and are thrilled to now contribute and be part of the conversation on social media,” president Shacey Petrovic said in prepared remarks. “Each element of our new brand and visual identity highlights our dedication to serving our community of energized users, families, clinicians and partners through innovation and a commitment to reducing the burden of diabetes and improving health outcomes. Our new community platform is one of many steps we are taking to ensure we provide unparalleled support to our remarkable community of Podders.”
Billerica, Mass.-based Insulet said it’s hoping that the new brand, app and social media presence will increase community among Omnipod customers and attract new patients to the therapy.
Earlier this month, Insulet reaffirmed its 2nd-quarter and full-year guidance after insurer UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) made Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) its preferred insulin pump provider.
