Medigus raises $3m, partners with NASA

Medigus raises $3m, partners with NasaMedigus (TLV:MDGS) raised $3m in a closed equity financing round, according to an SEC filing from the endosurgical and imaging device company. The company also partnered with NASA, providing micro ScoutCams for its Robotic Refueling Mission.

The Omer, Israel-based company develops minimally invasive endoscopic devices and procedures, including its Muse system for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease.

The funds from the financing round came from 3 unnamed investors, according to the SEC filing. Medigus has not yet stated what it plans to use the proceeds for.

In June, Medigus won a contract to supply NASA with its micro ScoutCam miniature video cameras and advanced processing equipment for use with its Robotic Refueling Mission.

Earlier this week, Medigus said that NASA successfully used the ScoutCams for the 1st time ins pace as part of its Visual Inspection Poseable Invertibrate Robot tool. The VIPIR tool is an essential tool being tested for NASA’s RRM, the company said.

“Partnering with NASA has been a tremendous experience and we are extremely proud that our innovative micro ScoutCam technology has helped NASA successfully execute this phase of their Robotic Refueling Mission,” CEO Chris Rowland said in a press release.
