Coatings2Go, a medical device coating supplier for the medical device industry, announced its receipt of a patent as it relates to hydrophilic coatings. The U.S. Patent Office has issued to Coatings2Go a patent with a grant date of July 14, 2015: U.S. Patent Number 9,080,061, “Coating Resins And Coatings With Multiple Crosslink Functionalities.”
“This new patent is the third hydrophilic patent to be issued to Surface Solutions Laboratories and licensed to Coatings2Go,” said Peg Palmer, CEO of Coatings2Go. “We are pleased with the acceptance of our patent application in preserving the unique intellectual property of our hydrophilic coating technologies. The versatility of this multiple cross-linking technology provides stronger and more adherent coatings for our customers.”
“At present, we have multiple additional patents under license relating to medical device coatings that can prevent clots, bacterial growth, scratches, deliver therapies/drugs, and others that can provide inert, non-blocking surfaces.”
Palmer also added, “This patent represents only a portion of the unique coating technology we offer the medical device industry.”
