Biolase (NSDQ:BIOL) said earlier this month that CEO Jeffery Nugent has resigned from both his position as CEO and the board of directors, effective July 12, to be replaced by Harold Flynn.
Irvine, Calif.-based Biolase picked up Flynn, the former president of Zimmer Dental (NYSE:ZMH), in May to replace Nugent, who the company said had stepped in to help last summer.
Nugent, older brother to musician and gun-rights activist Ted Nugent, was previously the founder and CEO of Precision Dermatology, which was acquired by Valeant Pharmaceuticals last year. Nugent has also served as CEO of Ascension Orthopedics, Revlon and Neutrogena.
Last August, Nugent took over for outgoing CEO Federico Pignatelli, who was forced to retire after a feud with major stakeholder Oracle Partners.
Oracle accused Pignatelli of “improper Board manipulations” and sought a court order to reorganize the company’s board. A Delaware Supreme Court ruling handed down in June forced Pignatelli to retire as CEO, making way for new acting CEO and board member Jeffrey Nugent and new board chairman Paul Clark.
Sanuwave CFO Jenkins steps out, Sundstrom steps in
Sanuwave Health (OTC:SNWV) said yesterday CFO Barry Jenkins will step down to take a top management position with a different medical service company. Company comptroller Lisa Sundstrom is set to take over after Jenkins leaves, effective July 31.
