Nuvasive promotes GC Hannon to executive veep | Personnel MovesNuVasive Inc. (NSDQ:NUVA) said today it promoted general counsel Jason Hannon to international executive vice president, where he will head the company’s international expansion.

Hannon, who has been with the company since 2005, will relocate to Amsterdam to lead the company’s international efforts, NuVasive said. Hannon was promoted to executive VP of corporate development and general counsel in 2010.

As a 10 year veteran of NuVasive, Jason is uniquely positioned to lead our international expansion efforts. He brings vast knowledge of not only our company, but of the global markets and competitive landscape to his new role, as well as business acumen and extensive corporate development experience. With Jason now leading our efforts internationally, we are well positioned to deliver on NuVasive’s next phase of growth and success as the innovation pioneer in spine on a truly global basis,”  CEO Gregory Lucier said in a press release.

NuVasive will keep Hannon on as general counsel until a replacement has been picked up, which the company said it is actively searching for.

“My immediate focus will be centered on globalizing our business growth, including accelerating investments for rapid growth in specific and targeted ways, as well as aggressively pursuing inorganic growth options to supplement NuVasive’s already strong organic expansion. Equally as important will be to ensure NuVasive shareowners around the world have a truly global mindset with a talent base that is strategically aligned. I look forward to spending time in each of our markets, helping to understand the barriers to our growth and prioritizing our most important investments,” exec veep Jason Hannon said in prepared remarks.

On Monday, NuVasive shuffled its execs under newly acquired CEO Gregory Lucier who took over for ousted former-CEO Alex Lukianov in May. Jason Hannon is taking over as general counsel and international exec veep from Russel Powers, Carol Cox is being promoted to exec veep of strategy, corporate development and external affairs from her position as exec veep of corporate affairs and human resources and Pete Leddy will move from his board position to take over HR as exec veep of HR and corporate integrity, NuVasive said.
