Arboretum Ventures looks to raise $215m for healthcare fundArboretum Ventures is looking to raise $215 million for a venture capital fund to invest in the healthcare industry, according to Crain’s Business Detroit.

In 2011, Arboretum Ventures raised $138 million in an oversubscribed fund that initially looked to raise $125 million, according to the article.

The Detroit, Mich.-based firm originally filed for the fund in June, at which point it reported 0 investors and no date of closure, according to an SEC Filing for the company.

Since its inception, Arboretum has successfully funded multiple startups, according to the article.

Investments include HealthMedia which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) for $200 million, HandlyLab, which sold to Becton Dickinson & Co. (NYSE:BDX) for $275 million and Accuri Cytometers, which also sold to Becton Dickinson for over $200 million, according to the company’s website.
