Battelle unveils new WayFinder hospital dashboard

Battelle said today it launched its WayFinder QI Dashboard advanced analytics tool designed to track and analyze internal data and metrics.

The Wayfinder uses statistical models to analyze pools of patient data data from hospitals and health systems to find information that can be acted on, Battelle said. The dashboard focuses on data required by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

“We understand hospitals today are challenged to both improve the quality and affordability of care. WayFinder enables hospitals to derive actionable insights from reliable, current data by removing the 2-year blind spot in AHRQ reporting. If these insights help avoid just 1 or 2 negative patient outcomes, a hospital will save enough to pay for WayFinder,” advanced analytics and health research director Warren Strauss said in a press release.

The new dashboard includes the ability to track recent clinical performance and adverse events, predict scores with a 95% confidence, view quality indicators in detail, compare performance with other hospitals and health systems and predict how scores will fare on CMS’ performance based reimbursements, Battelle said.

Battelle said it cooperated with the Ohio Hospital Association to create the dashboard, which has been in development since 2013.

Through our Institute for Health Innovation, we will continue to lead regional and statewide quality improvement initiatives that incorporates health care data analytics.” OHA CEO Mike Abrams said in a prepared statement.
