Globus Medical (NYSE:GMED) said it named former Boston CEO James R. Tobin to its board.
As president & CEO of Boston Scientific from March 1999 to July 2009, Tobin oversaw the $26 million Guidant acquisition.
“We are excited to welcome Jim to our board of directors,” chairman & CEO David Paul said in prepared remarks. “Jim has developed extensive expertise in the medical technology industry, both domestically and internationally, over his career. We will greatly benefit from his management and operational experience as we continue to implement our strategic plan of introducing innovative products, expanding our domestic and international sales forces, and making focused acquisitions.”

Valtronic nabs Advanced Bionic’s Platz for CEO
Valtronic said it hired Rainer Platz, the former operations head of Advanced Bionics’ North American operations, to be its new CEO effective Nov. 1. Former chief executive Martin Zimmermann was named to Valtronic’s board, the company said.

Lantheus Holdings (NSDQ:LNTH) said president & CEO Jeffrey Bailey retired August 31, replaced by COO Mary Anne Heino.
