GN ReSound said yesterday it is opening a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Johor, Malaysia, which will serve as the central distribution hub for the region.
Denmark-based GN ReSound develops and manufactures hearing aids, accessories and diagnostics equipment related to hearing.
“GN ReSound’s expansion into Malaysia represents the latest effort in our ongoing commitment to meeting the growing global demand for innovative hearing solutions. This 1st-class facility will advance our mission and help us continue to revolutionize what is possible in terms of hearing accessibility,” CEO Anders Hedegaard said in prepared remarks.
More than 100 employees have been hired for the facility, with the potential for approximately 450 jobs if the facility runs at full capacity, according to GN ReSound.
The facility joins sister facilities in Xiamen, China, the U.K. and Spain, the company said.
Earlier this year, the company launched it’s ReSound Linx2 hearing aid, designed to stream data from apple devices as well as improve hearing, GN ReSound said.
