Philips Healthcare’s India chief takes over new emerging markets line | Personnel Moves

Royal Philips (NYSE:PHG) has promoted its India managing director and CEO Krishna Kumar to a position managing its emerging healthcare business division, according to The Times of India.

Kumar is slated to continue as managing director of Philips India division until December, at which point he will lead the development of consumer and profesisonal healthcare products, according to the paper.

The newly-created division will oversee fields such as geriatric care, digital pathology solutions, hand-held diagnostics, home monitoring, end-of-care management and mental vitality, The Times of India reported.

Kumar took the position at the head of Philips India division in October 2013, replacing Rajeev Chopra, who went on to become global head of the Philips Consumer Luminaire Business Group in Brussels.

The company has not yet announced a replacement for Kumar.
