Baxter adds Boston Scientific CEO Mahoney to board | Personnel Moves

Baxter (NYSE:BAX) said today that it named Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) CEO Mike Mahoney to its board of directors.

Mahoney, who engineered a significant turnaround at Boston Scientific, was tapped to serve on Baxter’s governance and compensation committees.

“Mike’s significant knowledge of the global medical products business and his track record of leadership will make a significant contribution to Baxter’s board,” Baxter chairman & CEO Robert Parkinson Jr. said in prepared remarks. “We’re pleased to welcome Mike to the board and look forward to the perspectives he will bring to our governance.”

“The essential nature of Baxter’s product portfolio makes the company a known and trusted brand in healthcare,” Mahoney added. “The company’s extensive portfolio and strong global footprint provide a solid foundation for growth, and I look forward to collaborating with the company’s board and management team to position the company for continued success.”

Helius Medical named board member Joyce LaViscount to be its new CFO/COO, replacing Amanda Tseng, who retired. LaViscount, most recently CFO/COO at MediMedia Health, also put time in at Endo Pharmaceuticals (NSDQ:ENDP), Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY) and Aptalis.
