GE Healthcare, Mission Health ink 10-year outcomes-based development deal

GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) said today it inked a 10-year, outcomes-based development deal with Mission Health to streamline care and improve cost efficiency at Mission Health’s facilities.

Through the partnership, the companies will co-develop, pilot and deploy healthcare solutions focused on optimizing patient imaging experiences and smoothing out patient care transitions.

“This is an innovative, collaborative, outcomes-driven relationship focused on developing new, transformational ways of caring for patients at Mission Health and nationwide. The challenges we face at Mission are like so many health systems across the nation. Our goal is to improve our margin, drive system-wide efficiency and deliver an exceptional, transparent experience for every patient, family and team member. The solutions that we develop and cost savings we achieve with GE will be scalable and applicable to other similar healthcare systems. This is truly exciting for Mission and the industry,” Mission Health CEO Dr. Ronald Paulus said in a press release.

The companies will collaborate to streamline the patient imaging process, including selecting the right imaging modality, time frame and location across the system, and will leverage predictive modeling and analytics to streamline the entire patient care experience.

Focal points for the collaboration will include improving radiology screenings, transforming bedside monitoring practices and systems and asset optimization for radiology and biomedical services, the companies said.

Earlier this month, GE Healthcare said it inked a distribution deal with CS Medical to distribute its TD 100 esophageal ultrasound probe disinfector in the U.S.

The TD 100 device, designed to use CS Medical’s TD-5 disinfectant, is the only automated TEE probe disinfector to be tested and approved by “the major TEE manufacturers,” the company claimed.
