4. CS Medical inks U.S. distribution deal with GE Healthcare

CS Medical said last week that it inked a distribution deal that’s slated to see GE Healthcare distribute its TD 100 esophageal ultrasound probe disinfector in the U.S.

“This agreement demonstrates both companies’ continued commitment to minimizing healthcare-acquired infections. CS Medical’s [transesophageal echocardiogram] Complete Care product line, which includes the TD 100, provides healthcare professionals the tools to properly and effectively reprocess the delicate, semi-critical TEE ultrasound probe. The TD 100 has completed over 2.3 million successful disinfections,” president Mark Leath said in prepared remarks. Read more


3. Arch Therapeutics touts 1st-in-human for novel blood control device

Arch Therapeutics yesterday announced the completion of the 1st-in-human study of its novel AC5 topical hemostatic device, touting that study primary objectives were met with no serious adverse events and safety outcomes similar between the AC5 and control groups.

The study aimed to evaluate the safety and performance of the AC5 in patients undergoing excision of skin lesions on the trunk or upper limbs, with a primary endpoint of safety throughout the surgical procedure through 30-days. Read more


2. Rotation Medical adds $12m to Series B for regenerative rotator cuff treatment

Rotation Medical said today that it added $12 million to a Series B round that’s already brought in $27 million.

Plymouth, Minn.-based Rotation makes a regenerative treatment for repairing the shoulder’s rotator cuff – a group of muscles and tendons that attach the humerus to the scapula. The system won 510(k) clearance in March 2014. Read more


1. Outside developers suspend Sport medical ‘bot program until Titan Medical can pay its bills

The product developers Titan Medical hired to help create its Sport robot-assisted surgery platform have suspended development until the company can cover its bills, and $16 million in financing from a Chinese private equity firm might not happen after all, Titan said yesterday.

The Toronto-based company said its product developers “have decided to temporarily suspend development work of the Sport surgical system until such time that the company has sufficient financing to cover current and future work orders projected over a 6-month period.” Read more
